COUNTY - The previous adjournment was supposed to be the last, but a change in prosecutors has caused another delay in the case of a Blockhouse man facing proceeds of crime allegations.

 Brian Gregory Langille's name was back on the provincial court docket in Bridgewater September 3. He wasn't in court, but defence lawyer Julien Matte spoke on his behalf, indicating that there's been a change in prosecutors handling the case.

 Mr. Matte asked to have the charges against Mr. Langille bumped to September 24. He told Judge Anne Crawford the case will be contested, so he expects a hearing date will be set that day.

 Mr. Langille is represented by Alan Ferrier, the senior partner in Mr. Matte's firm. He was not available last Wednesday, but on the last court date on August 6 had said just one more adjournment was needed before the case could proceed.

 Mr. Langille, 61, faces two counts of possessing property knowing it was obtained by crime, that being cash in the amounts of $127,033.99 and $136,361.93. He is also charged with using or dealing with money with intent to conceal or convert it knowing it was obtained by crime.

 The three allegations are dated between January 1, 2002, and February 28, 2007.

 That latter date is the day police descended on Mr. Langille's property on the Northwest Road. They used a 26-foot rental truck to remove electronics, tools, sporting goods and household items.

 Mounties also seized a large quantity of marijuana, $10,000 worth of cocaine, cash and firearms.

 In November, Mr. Langille was sentenced to serve 34 months after pleading guilty to six of 17 allegations he faced at the time. Those included possession of both cocaine and marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of possessing weapons and ammunition while prohibited by court order, and one charge of unsafely storing a firearm.

 He remains in federal custody in New Brunswick.
