Triathlon club starts new season The Bridgewater Triathlon Club's 2010 season is off and running.
Swimmers may take part in two practices, one a coached session to prepare for the upcoming race season, the other more unstructured and relaxed. Cyclists are getting ready for warmer days with a weekly spin workout at the HB Studios Sports Centre. Using bikes on trainers, the program is designed to build good biking skills while increasing fitness. During January, club member Tammy Slauenwhite is conducting a weekly session on strength training and stretching routines after the spin workouts. A session for planning your 2010 training is scheduled for January 23 at 10 a.m. in the fieldhouse conference room, including a short introduction and an information exchange. By the end of January, the 3 x 30 winter triathlon series gets under way. Each month, participants record how far they can swim, bike and run in 30 minutes. The activities don't have to be done concurrently and can be done at a location convenient for the participants. The series is free and open to everyone. posted on 01/19/10 |
