Paula Levy photo Thirteen of the South Shore's finest artists will be featured at the Growing Green art show, to be held at the Bridgewater public library from July 23 to August 26.
The show, "Sustainability is..." is part of the third annual Growing Green Sustainability Festival, taking place on King Street, Bridgewater, on July 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to see multiple local artists feature both representational and abstract work, including watercolour and acrylic paintings, printmaking, stained and hand-painted glass, textile work and multimedia sculpture. Each piece is a reflection of the artist's interpretation of sustainability. According to Phyllis Price, one of the organizers of the show, "The presence of art that reflects local culture at the same time as challenging thinking is an important part of a vibrant local community. This show also has an underlying theme: 'art sustains the soul.'" The artists featured in the show are Maria Kuttner, Sue Obata and Sattler's Stained Glass Studio, Sara Harley, Margo Isbister, Carole Langille, Rita Lamontagne-Macdonald, Rebecca Roher, Wendy Muise, Diane Wile-Brumm, Lezlie Morgan, Susan Venables, Karen Langlois and Stephanie Daffey.
