Bridgewater singer's latest CD a compilation of gospel tunesby Keith Corcoran![]() Myrna Peeler with her new CD in the middle, called "I Am Free A Gospel Inspiration," and her previous releases. Myrna Peeler's third CD release is a collection of original gospel tunes.
The Bridgewater singer recently set free her 12-track album titled "I Am Free A Gospel Inspiration." It's her first gospel compilation. Asked if it's her best work, she said, "I would say." Ms Peeler said the album is about being thankful for what one has. "People take so much for granted in this world," she said. Song titles include "Many Beautiful Things" and "Always Count Your Blessings." The song "Angels All Around Us" is about church volunteers who answered the call to help with some driving duties for her grandson, who has muscular dystrophy. "That was so wonderful," Ms Peeler said. On the new CD, she handles lead vocals and guitar. Joey Carver is lead and bass guitarist, background vocals and keyboard player. Jane Tanner lends a hand with omnichord and backup vocals, while Agnes Clinton does the violin and dobro guitar. It was recorded at Joey Carver's Foddy's Studio in Western Shore. The "I Am Free" CD cover photo shows Ms Peeler in a casual pose with a coat flung over her right shoulder at the entrance to the Grace Lutheran Church in First South. The back photo shows Ms Peeler with guitar in hand standing on the side of an empty gravel road that has bright greenery flourishing on each side of the strip. Ms Peeler's previous album releases include "Thinking of You," which came available a couple of years ago. Her first CD, titled "For My Family and Friends Especially," came out in 2007. Both have largely a country folk flavour. Those releases were also recorded in Western Shore. "I Am Free" can be purchased at the Garden of Readin' Christian Books and Gifts in Bridgewater or by contacting Ms Peeler at myrnapeeler@yahoo.ca via e-mail. People can check her out live during the South Shore Exhibition in Bridgewater. She's scheduled to play at 1 p.m. on July 28. Ms Peeler also offers words of encouragement to those who have big goals in life. "If you have a dream, keep it alive." posted on 07/19/11 |
