Rissers Beach facility upgrades behind schedule, according to reportCRESCENT BEACH - Improvements to washroom and shower facilities at a Lunenburg County provincial park are at least four weeks overdue, a daily paper reports. Issues with construction and design are to blame for the delay, a government spokesman told the Chronicle Herald in a story published July 14. The paper said day-use facilities at Rissers Beach Provincial Park are usually open for users by mid-June, but they were still closed last week. “There have been some work delays, so we’ve installed some portable washrooms at the same location [at the entrance to the beach], so they’re there for people to use until the work is completed,” Dan Davis of the Department of Natural Resources told the Herald. He suggested the department is doing the best it can to remedy the situation. “We appreciate this is an inconvenience to the public,” he told the paper. posted on 07/19/11 |
