PLEASANTVILLE - Allen Sullivan has received the Municipality of Lunenburg's provincial volunteer of the year award nomination.

 Mr. Sullivan has a 30-year history of contributing to his community. He has been an active member of the Pleasantville fire department for over 25 years, and has held several positions in the Pleasantville Baptist Church for over 30 years.

 Other organizations and groups that Mr. Sullivan has been involved in include the Bridgewater Relay for Life for the Canadian Cancer Society, Operation Christmas Child, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Golf Tournament, pastoral care at the South Shore Regional Hospital and Cancer Care Nova Scotia.

 In addition to attending a volunteer reception at the Municipality of Lunenburg, Mr. Sullivan will also represent the municipality at a provincial event in Halifax.
