Flower Power

Flower Power Tossing the bouquet, or nosegay, may have become an ingrained part of many western Christian wedding celebrations, but such was not always the case.

In fact, in years gone by, the bride would not toss her flowers over her shoulder to waiting single women, but rather, she would throw her shoe.

One would speculate that the shoe-tossing tradition fell out of favour for fear of accidentally injuring onlookers.

As they say, time may heal all wounds, but large heels can cause them.
