The new cable ferry, the Brady E. Himmelman, was christened in LaHave July 29. Witnessing the event was 92-year-old Capt. Brady Himmelman. The former captain ran the crossing for 35 years.

A seven-alarm fire Wednesday destroyed the former Risser’s General Store in West Dublin. Lunenburg County RCMP are calling the fire suspicious in nature. Fire crews started arriving at the old store, off Highway 331, after 6 p.m. Check out clips from the scene.
